As parents, you’re always looking for ways to help our children discover their potential- to find experiences that nurture their passions, develop their confidence, and give them practical skills for the future. If your teenager is creative, enthusiastic about dance, or curious about teaching and working with others, the Future Waves Trainee Assistant Facilitator Course could be the perfect opportunity for them to shine.
Running from January to June 2026, this six-month course is designed for young people aged 14 and above who want to explore careers in dance, education, and the creative industries. It provides an inspiring blend of training, mentorship, and real-world experience, all within a structured and supportive environment.
Future Waves is more than just a dance course, it’s an investment in your child’s personal and professional growth. Over six months, trainees develop essential life skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, and organisation- qualities that are valued in any career path. Whether your child continues in the arts or chooses another field, the confidence and transferable skills they gain will stay with them for life.
One of the most valuable parts of the Future Waves experience is the individual mentorship each trainee receives. Every participant has a one-to-one session with a professional artist from Moving Waves, where they can discuss their ambitions, ask questions, and receive tailored guidance about their next steps. This personalised approach ensures that your child feels supported not just in their creative growth, but also in shaping their future goals — whether that’s pursuing performing arts, teaching, or another path entirely.
Future Waves believes in learning by doing. That’s why the course combines professional instruction with practical experience — giving trainees the chance to assist in real Moving Waves Academy classes. This first-hand exposure to classroom environments allows young people to apply what they’ve learned, observe professional facilitators, and gradually develop their own teaching style. For those aged 16 and above, successful completion of the course may even lead to paid opportunities within Moving Waves — a valuable step into the world of work.
As parents, it’s natural to want reassurance that a programme will fit well around school and family life. Future Waves has been carefully designed to do just that. The course includes monthly Zoom sessions, weekend in-person workshops, and a combination of online and self-paced learning, making it flexible but consistent. It provides the right balance of structure and independence — allowing your teenager to grow in responsibility while still being guided by professionals.
Beyond the skills and experience, one of the most rewarding aspects of Future Waves is the sense of community it creates. With limited spaces available, each participant becomes part of a small, close-knit group of like-minded young people. This supportive environment helps them build friendships, share ideas, and gain confidence in expressing themselves. It’s a space where creativity is celebrated and every young person feels valued and encouraged.
By the end of the six months, your teenager will have built a strong foundation in facilitation, dance technique, and creative leadership. They’ll also have developed a personal “toolbox” of games, ideas, and strategies to support a wide range of learners- an invaluable resource for anyone interested in teaching, mentoring, or community arts. With ongoing feedback, career advice, and a CPD-accredited certificate, they’ll finish the programme with a clear sense of achievement and purpose.
Spaces are limited, making this a wonderful opportunity for young people who are ready to take their next step in a nurturing, inspiring setting.
If you’re looking for a meaningful experience that will help your teenager grow in confidence, creativity, and independence, the Future Waves Trainee Assistant Facilitator Course is an excellent choice.
